I am Joy Yonan-Renold, a strength and conditioning coach for general and special populations (everyone) with an additional passion for developing youth athletes. I train clients of all ages and sizes to master the basics of strength training for injury prevention, stress management, and increased athleticism. I believe a better understanding of the scientific principles our bodies are governed by drives progress, leads to the development of healthy habits, and the setting and achieving of strength and fitness goals. I was a high school coach for two years in Vermont prior to Toronto, have a couple powerlifting medals under my belt, and basically never got over my love for exercise and sports, so eventually I turned it into my work! My overarching philosophy can be summed up as: Strength is the foundation for success.

I am a Mom of two kids and a cat. I love reading, music (all sorts) and Olympic weightlifting. I’ve had a fitness blog for quite a few years now, where I share my thoughts on training, diet and my current educational interests and explorations.
